Arp 116 is in the class E-like Galaxies Perturbing Spirals. Dr. Arp noted
"absorption heavier on spiral side away from E galaxy." The primary is
best known as Messier 60, also cataloged as NGC 4649. The companion spiral
is NGC 4647.
The pair of galaxies toward the SW corner of the field are NGC
4637 and 4638, with 4638 being the larger of the pair.
