Arp 54
![]() |
Arp 54 is a member of the class Spirals with Small HSB Companions on Arms.
It's the largest galaxy in this field, about halfway up to the north edge.
It has a bright knot at the end of the west arm and a fairly large companion
about 30' further southwest, halfway to the star. The Atlas note mentions
"arm toward companion split, contains nodule". There are a lot of tiny
galaxies scattered throughout the field.
