arp 273

  arp 273 is in the class double galaxies with connected arms, and the atlas note arp 273 is in the class double galaxies with connected arms, and the atlas note is "bright long well defined arms, but, smooth, not patchy".  the large galaxy is ugc 1810 and the nearly edge-on is ugc 1813.  this is a very pretty object.  note the way the end of the edge-on hooks back away from the primary, rather than merging with it.
