Arp
164 is another of the class Diffuse Filaments, but see discussion
for Arp 162. This
characteristic is evident in both versions of the image, but especially in the
negative. Notice the faint loop at the south end of the galaxy. The
face-on spiral just under 4 minutes east of Arp 164 is MCG+1-4-13 and the
edge-on near the bottom of the field is MCG+1-4-10. None of the other
galaxies are listed in any of the widely used catalogs.
