Arp 50 (IC 1520)
Arp 50 is not the smallest Arp, but certainly one of them. It's class is
Spirals with Small HSB Companions on Arms. In this case, the companion is
right at the end of the south arm. The detail image shows it best.
Also visible in the detail, on the northeast edge of the galaxy, is a star not
seen in the Atlas image. Might be a supernova.
This image was taken with the MX916 camera I borrowed from Dennis Webb. That was not the best camera to use, since it has larger pixels and a larger field than my MX716.
