Arp 43 (IC 607)
![]() |
Arp 43 is in the class Spirals with LSB Companions on Arms. I assume the
LSB companion is the small one at the edge SSE of the core. At first
glance, it looks like a star. The Atlas note mentions "one side of ring
obscured or disrupted; other side has low S.B. comp.".
The original image was taken under very poor conditions -- it was hazy, quite windy, and the Moon was only one day past Full. Recently I added 20 minutes under excellent conditions.
