Arp 312

Arp 312 is in the class Galaxy Groups.  The Atlas note says "diffuse connection between central members of group".  The Atlas field is generally centered in this field but is shifted a little to the N and E.  The galaxy closest to the center is MCG+8-31-4.  The pair just NE consists of MCG+8-31-5 to the NW and MCG+8-31-6 to the SE; the diffuse connection mentioned in the Atlas note can be seen between them.  The only other cataloged galaxy in the Atlas field is the tiny one E of MCG+8-31-5, almost hidden by the star, and it is found only in the 2MASX catalog.
