Arp 28 (NGC 7678)
Arp 28 is one of the most obvious examples of Arp's class Spirals with
One Heavy Arm. The positive image is one of my replacements, shot since
the first round of 338 was finished, because there is a lot of fine detail that
did not show up in my original Cookbook image. However, the Cookbook image
was very deep (52 minutes vs. 22 minutes), so for the negative image I merged
the two. Because the fields were shifted a little between the two images,
the edges had to be cropped and the negative image is only 10' x 14' in size.
A lot more of the galactic halo and many more background galaxies can be seen in
the negative image.
