Arp 179

Arp 179 is the sperm-like object east, and a little south, of center.  The Atlas note is "condensed offset center".  This is a screwy one.  It is wrong in NED and Megastar.  Both of them identify the compact little galaxy just west of center as Arp 179.  It is not.  Megastar has Arp 179 labeled as MAC 0302-0441 while NED shows a variety of catalog names for it, none frequently used by amateurs.

This image is a combination of two images taken about a year apart.  I did not line them up exactly the same and the image shape reflects the portions that overlapped.
