Arp 16 (M66; NGC 3627)

Arp 16 is the first of the Messier objects to appear in the Arp atlas.  Arp classifies it as a Spiral Galaxy with Detached Segments.  The Atlas note is "see also 317.  Large concentration at end of S arm".  This is one of the two images still included on the site which predates my real start date for this effort.  The image was acquired on a cold, windy night in February of 2003.

Arp 16 (M66) is also included in the Leo Triplet, Arp 317.  M65 and NGC 3628 are the other two members of the Triplet.
