Arp 123 (NGC 1888 & 89)
![]() |
Arp 123 is in the class E-like Galaxies Perturbing Spirals. It is the pair
west and a little south of the center of the field. The edge-on galaxy in
the northeast corner is MCG-2-14-15. The primary in Arp 123 is NGC 1888
and the companion is NGC 1889. The Atlas note for Arp 123 is "faint
parallel feature on opposite side from S0 galaxy". That is just
visible as a thin dark absorption line running along the southwest side of the
nucleus.
